First time at this event. Everything was very well organised – parking (plenty room), number collection, toilets, food and drink, warm-up. Route was well signposted and marshals and drink stations friendly and efficient. The only drawback for me personally was the route itself, which was a bit too hilly for my old legs, and was very puddly and muddy in places (but that’s not the organisers’ fault). Overall an enjoyable day out.

Once again a great event from Tay fitness and Run Mhor. Pete and his team are brilliant and the enthusiasm and energy from them and the competitors is incredible. One of my favourite events, even the hills and the puddles don’t seem so bad.
Roslyn Davidson (verified owner) –
Brilliant event – so well organised- stunning location & the hills weren’t too bad !! 👍🏻💕
Simon McGillivray (verified owner) –
What a great event! Upon arrival seamless instruction for parking then a great warm up before the main event. Was good starting the runners in waves for the different times.
Everyone seemed encouraging especially since the course is pretty gruelling. Thanks to Tay Events for putting on a really nice and scenic 10k.
Might head back next year to improve on my time or better still I may volunteer instead.
Elaine Cassidy (verified owner) –
Very well organised, parking, warm up, plenty support on the course, great finish commentary and lovely food. Beautiful scenery and a “wee” hill to get up and down, thank you.

Best 10k race in the calendar!

Second time I’ve ran this excellent event. Faultless from parking the car to crossing the finish line. It’s a tough route and was really muddy (read flooded at points) this time. One for trail shoes!
Hazel Ross (verified owner) –
Amazing to be back running at an event, especially one in such a beautiful setting and just like the Mhor 1/2 it’s so well organised and friendly,. Visualising the chocolate brownie at the end for sure helped to tackle the hill, yum, thanks all involved 👏👏
Jude Fraser –
First time at this event as place was deferred during Covid. Thoroughly enjoyed the atmosphere, the well marshalled event and the compère great day out and fantastic views.
Michelle Riley (verified owner) –
I absolutely loved this event! Really well organised from start to finish. Loved the friendly vibe. The organisers/volunteers were wonderful – friendly, enthusiastic and encouraging. I am only just getting back into running after several years and I am now officially hooked again! Seriously thinking about going for the Trilogy next year but will definitely back for this little beauty. Thank you so much!

Wow 🤩, first time doing this event, it is now officially on my “to do” list! Challenging, yet amazing. Views to die for throughout the run, not to mention the pipers placed throughout the course. Marshals were so supportive and full of fun, genuinely happy for you. If you haven’t done this event make sure you do!
Alasdair MacIntosh (verified owner) –
Another great event from Tay Fitness 👏 managed to beat my time again. Hard going and mentally challenging run that will push you to do your absolute best.
Sandy Orr (verified owner) –
Fantastic event in a series of fantastic events. This isn’t a run of the mill 10k, it’s scenic and hilly and a whole lot of fun in a beautiful setting. There’s a reason why this always sells out fast!
Vivienne James (verified owner) –
Amazing 10km! Not just a spectacular course, the atmosphere and organisation is the best and the cakes at the end….
Kirsty Hyatt (verified owner) –
Excellent event from start to finish, plenty of parking, great atmosphere & fantastic cakes afterwards for runners & supporters. Amazing volunteers/marshalls. Stunning route even though I’m not keen in hills & obviously hadn’t done my research!
Second time running a Tay Fitness event & won’t be my last.
Janice Thomson (verified owner) –
I don’t recall ever seeing so many volunteers at an event, ran with precission. 1st time at Run Mhor event for me. There was a great buzz in the air.
The warm up energised us even more. Loved the run, tuff with an amazing down hill. Compier was so good, witty and hyped up the whole event.
DEFINATELY UP THERE WITH MY FAVOURITE RUNS.
Thank you to all that were involved.
1st class x

Wow – easy to see why voted best 10k in Scotland. Simply awesome event – super challenging but a whole lot of fun too. The 4k downhill is off the scale! Organisation of every tay fitness event is absolutely bang on from the event itself, to the parking, to the vendors, to the merch – nothing is missing. Great efforts guys – can’t wait till Callender in a few weeks and of course to do hidden glen in April 2022. Bring it on!!
Nicola Taylor (verified owner) –
Excellent event my kids participated in the fun run and everything was so well organised, such beautiful scenery I might even enter the 10k myself next year! Well done to everyone involved.
Lynne Zabek (verified owner) –
Really loved the race on Saturday, great but tough route, the atmosphere at the start and end of the race was ace. Tay fitness are great, really helpful when I had an issue with another race.
Rowan Morrison (verified owner) –
This is by far the best organised run I’ve ever done – I’m a relative newbie to running, but the atmosphere was amazing, the food available was amazing, the scenery was stunning and I just adored every single second! Running downhill through muddy puddles was an absolute joy. Now signed up to the Trilogy… eek.
Jamie McColl (verified owner) –
Can’t rate this event highly enough! Very well organised, beautiful setting and great atmosphere and enthusiasm on the day. The struggle uphill in muddy conditions was a challlenge I wasn’t quite prepared for but every step was worth it for the great views and the thrill of powering back downhill afterwards. Loved the experience and can’t wait to come back and do it all again

Recommended race.

This is my second Hidden Glen 10! Boy, it was so good to be back. Such a well organised event. The friendliness and enthusiasm from everyone was almost overwhelming after 2 years without participating in an organised race. Such a beautiful setting !My favourite race ever. If you are swithering about whether to do this next year, get yourself signed up when entries open. Trail shoes are definitely required. So looking forward to the 24th April 2022.
Ross Finnie (verified owner) –
I’ve done the Hidden Glen every year since it started, and I’ll keep on entering as long as my legs let me! It’s a great route – not one to set your PB on, but just that nice balance of a being difficult enough in places to keep you on your toes without being a total dangerfest. Ideal for first-time trail runners. Mostly it’s just the fact that it’s always a brilliant, friendly event that keeps me coming back, and even the lack of sponsored freebie pint this year didn’t manage to spoil that.

We’ve camped @ Mhor,(pre kids) stayed at Monachyle Mhor, Mhor 84 & Pilot Panther, sampled Mhor Bread & Fish, and all have been excellent. Having now ran the Mhor Hidden Glen with my son I can add that to the list and it did not disappoint. Tough route, but that added to the overall experience, and stunning. Really well organised, great support and encouragement from start to finish, with the pipers giving an extra boost. Now signed up for the Trilogy!

My partner and I have recently starting running again, and having completed a couple of Tay Fitness events, the Hidden Glen 10k was insane!! We smiled from start to finish, the views were incredible and the atmosphere was the best yet!! We haven’t stopped recommending this race to our friends and cannot wait to return in 2022!
Emma Whitfield (verified owner) –
Love love loved this race! The location was so scenic and you had plenty of toilet cake and tea/pint facilities that were all very hygienic. There was a fun warm up at the start which everyone took part in. The race itself was also very pretty despite hilly at the start and on the way back it meant more hills to come down which was very helpful! They also had various water stops especially for it being a 10k and had a bagpiper at the half way point. The most fun I’ve ever had at a race x
Michael Mallon (verified owner) –
Great atmosphere. There was a handful of lads playing the bagpipes at various points throughout the race 👌🏼Tough course but an enjoyable one!

Attempted the Hidden Glen 10k yesterday. Had I known how tough it was I might not have entered 🤣 I fell at about 7k and had to have attention from medic Stuart (thanks Stuart, I’m sore but fine), so my finish time was a bit longer than it might have been. However, the event is fantastic – the location and scenery is stunning, and the organisers, volunteers and everyone involved did a great job. Even the weather was perfect 🌞
Joy Koebel (verified owner) –
Wonderful friendly, family atmosphere.
Loved the bagpipes at the top of the hill. Visiting the baking booth for a tasty lunch afterwards hit the spot
Janyne Afseth –
I think this def can take the billing as the top 10K in Scotland. The organisation is top notch. The organisation, communication and support on the day far better than many larger events and very professional. The course is beautiful (but quite a challenge!!!), the atmosphere fantastic and food exceptional (as always is the case with Mhor). Regardless of fitness – the fastest to slowest runner is cheered and supported and would fully recommend. Even better when the sun shines like it did for us in 2022.
Paul Wilson –
It may have been the weather, it most certainly involved the volunteers, the scenery and even the hill, but this certainly is one of the best events I have been to! The events village at the hotel is the perfect size to be personal, friendly and welcoming, while also having everything you need for before (and after) the run. It feels like a huge family gathering than the often soulless corporate events at other, larger, offerings. The whole day is impeccably organised from the parking, registration and warm up through to the waves setting off and the welcome back at the end. The marshals were amazing, lifting spirits throughout a pretty tough course (must do more hill training) and making sure we are all making it back. The lack of cut off times adds to the relaxed stress free feel, you just know you will get to finish and be cheered on by everyone no matter what. I would recommend this to everyone I meet. It is a must do in an amazing part of the country.

Superb event, tough course but a great atmosphere all the way round and afterwards. Would thoroughly recommend
Lily McCarthy –
Fantastic scenery with lovely atmosphere. The pipers brought a tear to my eye and the guy playing the drums at the top was such a surprise I couldn’t help laughing, even though I had most of the hill under my legs at that point 😅. The aforementioned massive hill never seemed to end, and scrabbly rocks underfoot meant even the decent was really hard… almost came a cropper a few times and seeing the bloody knees at the finish line means I wasn’t the only one. All in all I still loved it a lot, and look forward to the rest of the trilogy.
Colin Henry (verified owner) –
by far the most enjoyable 10k I’ve done to date. loved everything about it, staff are always great at these events but the staff inside the village and on the course were second to none. course could have hit the trails quicker i thought, as the road running section at the beginning was a bit tight and keeping in to one side to let the quicker runners by squeezed it a bit more, but loved getting up into the trails and those inclines were, well – challenging. had my family and wee dug as my “support team” and they have a brilliant day also. will be back for sure. Thank you.
Eamon Kearney –
First time running this race and thoroughly enjoyed it. Really friendly atmosphere all through the event, the volunteers were fantastic. The course is not an easy one, definitely no PB’s here, but very well organised and a rewarding day out. Will definitely run this again.
Hannah Holmes (verified owner) –
Toughest 10km I think I’ve ever done – very rocky underfoot on the main ascent. I thought seriously about tapping out after the first couple of “undulating” kilometres! However, a huge sense of achievement from finishing (even if my feet are still complaining). Great organisation, everyone was super friendly and I love the bagpipes. The cakes on offer were phenomenal! A huge thank you to all volunteers and organisers!
Keira Reid –
As I’ve come to expect from tay fitness events a very friendly well organised event. The only small point is to possibly have more toilets.
Neil Kemp –
Really fun event! Not a fast course with quite a steep rocky few kilometres but lots of fun. Parking and facilities were perfect. Everything run on time and had a very relaxed atmosphere. Would recommend to anyone that enjoys a bit of a challenging 10k that’s not quite a trail race.
Christopher Dickson (verified owner) –
I really enjoyed this event. Despite the remote location the parking was plentiful and well organised. The catering was excellent with such a wide range of breads, pies and cakes. The run was very scenic if tough – I knew the big hill would be hard but hadn’t anticipated how undulating the first couple of km would be. Definitely a strong sense of achievement when it was over! Also a big thank you to the compere would kept everything going smoothly and created an excellent friendly environment.
Sandra Reid –
Toughest 10k I have done so far, but worth. A well organised event, amazing support, excellent facilities and food options.
Isabelle Smit –
I did the Hidden Glen 10km for the first time this year and absolutely loved it! The atmosphere was fantastic and it was really well organised! I signed up with 4 running friends from my village and it was fab being able to encourage one another as we crossed paths. The run itself was tough but super rewarding once I got past the finish line and I was really proud of myself at the end. I would definitely recommend this race!
Eleanor Ewbank (verified owner) –
2nd time I’ve done this event and its just fab! Great atmosphere as always with Tay Fitness events and although its a tough 10k the views and yummy food make it all worthwhile – highly recommend
Anita Hall (verified owner) –
I love Tay Fitness events. Having had only positive experiences at Mhor 84 half marathon I wanted to try another event. The Hidden Glen 10k did not disappoint. The same well organised, friendly race experience as the others but with even more amazing scenery to run through. I just wished I lived nearer to be able to do them all. Thank you everyone for a fabulous day
Lindsey McLeod (verified owner) –
Great event again from Tay Fitness! Everything was really well organised from the parking to refreshments. The kit drum at the top and bagpipers along the route lifted the spirits! Can’t wait to run it again x
Caroline Noden (verified owner) –
Loved the Hidden Glen 10km. Fantastic views. Superb volunteers. Amazing food and a great family day out. It has inspired me to enter more 10km races
Urszula Kempinska –
A super scenic 10k with fun, inclusion and good vibes (and food) at its heart. The energy that the team at Tay Fitness Events is what sets them apart from others – you can feel their joy and passion in doing what they do. The setting of the barn for post race food was perfect – delicious food including a wide section of huge cakes, pastries and sandwiches, as well as freshly made fish and chips! The running route itself provides a good challenge for those looking to up their regular 10k game – this is helped by the drummer and bagpipers playing at different point on the route. Without a doubt the best 10k I’ve ever participated in!
Simon McGregor –

A very well organised event. Great job from the Tay Fitness team. And a big thank you to all the volunteers too.Would highly recommend this event. Looking forward to Thornhill.
