+ How much does it cost to enter?

Marathon – Solo: £42

Marathon – Relay: £27 per person

+ What are the relay options?
  • Runner 1: Start (Callander) to Mhor 84 Motel – 16.2 miles
  • Runner 2: Mhor 84 Motel to the Finish – 10 miles
  • Runners will switch at Mhor 84 Motel at the 16.2 mile mark on the route. There will be parking available for runner 2 to park a car for runner 1 to collect and drive to the finish. Both runners will receive their medals together at the finish at Monachyle Mhor Hotel. Runner 1 will have the chance to run the last 100m up the finish chute with their team mate, should they wish to.
  • When you register for the event you will be asked to give a team name and to identify which leg each runner will complete. If any of this information changes prior to the event, please contact [email protected]

+ What are the age limits?

You must be 18+ on the day of the event.

  • Bag drop at start, with bags taken to finish to be collected

+ What's the event schedule?

9am – Registration, bag drop and  toilets open

9:45am – Registration desk closes

9:55am – Welcome and safety briefing

10am – Mhor Marathon start

1pm – First runners expected

6pm – Final runners expected

+ Is the race timed?

Every participant in the event will be accurately timed using chip timing technology from Perfect Timing Scotland. Participants race number and timing chip are integrated and will be posted to participants approximately 2 weeks before the event. Participants who register less than 2 weeks before the event will collect their timing chips on the day of the event. Participants will be able to check their official time at the timing booth as soon as they finish. Soon after the event, all race results will be posted online and on social media.

 

+ Are there cut off times?

No. Whether this is your 1st or 51st marathon, you’re 18 or 80, as long as you are medically fit to continue, we will support you to the finish line.

+ What is the route elevation?
  • Full Route: 2250 feet (approx)
  • Relay Leg 1: 1550 feet (approx)
  • Relay Leg 2: 700 feet (approx)
+ Where are the water stops?
  • x 7 (5.5, 10.6, 14, 16.2, 18.4, 21.75 and 24.5 miles approx)
  • Drinks: All water stops will have water and Active Root
  • Energy gels: Available at waterstops 2, 3, 5, 6 and  7
  • Food: A range of sweet and salty food will be available at each water stop
+ Is the route marked?

Yes, the route will be fully marked using large yellow signs. Marshals and medical staff will be positioned at key locations.

+ What are the route conditions?

Approximately 21 miles on tarmac, 5miles on trail and 0.2 miles on grass.

+ Can I order event merchandise?

Yes via our website, click HERE. There will also be a section of event merchandise, from all our events, available to buy on the day. Payment on the day can be taken by card or cash.

+ Are there prizes available?
  • Prizes will be awarded to the top 3 men and women in the Solo event
  • There will also be prizes for the male and female winners of the following categories in the Solo event: Open (18-39), Veteran (40-49), Super Veteran (50-59), Vintage Veteran (60+).
+ Is there car parking available?
  • The start is based at McLaren High School, Callander.
  • Parking is available across the town, charges may apply. The start is approximately a 5-minute walk from the town centre car parking. We are encouraging all participants to come to the event with family and friends. This will mean participants can be collected by their friends at the finish at Monachyle Mhor Hotel, where they can join in the celebrations and share the Run Mhor experience.
  • For runners coming to the event alone, we will be offering a bus service back to Callander, £10 per person.
  • The parking at Mhor 84 Motel is for relay runners only, there is no space for spectators as spaces are very limited. Vehicles will be directed to park on the service road which runs in front of Mhor 84. Parking at the finish is based in the fields below Monachyle Mhor Hotel.
  • Travel to and from Monachyle Mhor Hotel from Balquhidder Hall will be managed by a traffic control system, to make the journey along the single track road as smooth as possible. Please be patient if asked to wait, it is for your own safety.
+ Can I book a bus back from the finish to Callander?

There will be a limited bus service from Monachyle Mhor Hotel to Callander after the event to return runners who are not travelling with spectators. There will be two bus services available, departing from Monachlye Mhor Hotel at 3.30pm and 5.30pm.  The bus will drop off participants at the Station Road Car Park in central Callander. The bus service costs £10 and must be pre-booked.

+ Is there food and drink available?

Mhor will be offering a selection of food for Marathon participants and spectators. Food and drink will be available before the race at the start line and from 11am at the finish line. Food and drink will include tea and coffee, licensed bar (at the finish), breakfast rolls, freshly made fish and chips, burgers, salads and home baking. Exact menu TBC.

+ Is it true we have to cross a river?

Yes! Within the last mile of the event there is a river crossing. This is at most 30 metres depending on the water level. The crossing will be done by boat using a pulley system. Participants will be sat in a boat for the duration of the crossing and the pulleys will be operated by event staff. It is not possible to run across the river.

+ Is there post-race massage?

Massage will be available after the event at Monachyle Mhor Hotel by the wonderful Athletes’ Angels! A 15 minute massage costs £10. You can guarantee your massage by pre-booking via our website.

+ Is the event safe?

Tay Fitness Events want to assure you that you will be very safe while taking part. Throughout the event you will be kept safe by a large and highly qualified team of medical and event professionals along with a large number of experienced event marshals.

+ Can I defer/transfer/get a refund?

Deferrals: If a participant is unable to take part they may request a deferral up to 1 month before the event.  Deferrals must be used the following year and cannot be deferred for a second time.

Transfers: If a participant is unable to take part they may request to transfer their place to another runner up until 1 week before the event. If the race numbers have already been posted out it is up to the runners to organise exchange of the race number.

Refunds: Can be requested until 1 month before the event and are subject to a 10% admin fee. After this date, credit codes will be issued if the withdrawn place can be reallocated to a new participant. Credit codes are also subject to a 10% admin fee. They can be used against any other event within 1 year.
