Mhor 84 Half Marathon

The Run Mhor 84 Half Marathon starts and finishes at Mhor 84 Motel, just off the A84, Balquhidder. The half marathon incorporates 2 loops with the mid point of the event returning close to Mhor 84. Loop 1 takes runners towards the village of Balquhidder, past the church where Rob Roy is buried and the head of Loch Voil. Runners continue on the road towards Strathyre and then on to the new section of cycle track back to Mhor 84.

Runners then start a second loop, which takes them north towards Lochearnhead along the route 7 cycle path. Passing Edinchip Estate runners continue to the foot of the challenging climb up the zig-zags to join the old railway line at Glenogle. At the top of the zig-zags half marathon runners turn left and the route continues on a gradual down hill back towards Balquhidder. For the final 1.5miles runners retrace their steps before finishing outside Mhor 84.

The terrain for all runners is a mix of tarmac roads, compacted cycle path and trails. The only slightly uneven trail section is the long downhill from the top of the zig-zags back to where the route rejoins itself after approx 2Km.

Please note that the Half Marathon route is approximately 13.6 miles long.
