Product Description

The Loch Tay Highland Lodges Killin 10K began in 2011 and is our longest running event! Runners of both distances experience crossing the spectacular Falls of Dochart before splitting to take on different routes up and down Glen Lochay and past Loch Tay respectively. The routes then rejoin with 500m to go and finish in Breadalbane Park. The whole community comes out to support the event and with amazing scenery thrown in, you are guaranteed a warm welcome and memorable visit to Killin.

The Killin 10K  was awarded 3rd Best 10K in Scotland by the Running Awards in 2020 (based on our 2019 event).

My 1st Killin 10k and what a fantastic event! Superb organisation, challenging but beautiful route, friendly locals. Also a fantastic fun run for the kids – mine loved every minute, a great way to get little ones involved in the great outdoors. I’ll be back!

I come back to this 10k year after year because its by far the best. Well organised, lots of Marshalls and water points. Its such a beautiful place and the run is very varied and not too challenging. Always look forward to the soup and sandwich in the hall afterwards.

First time for me at Killin, but like all the other Tay Fitness and absolutely cracking event! Stunning route with all the climbs you expect from a Tay Fitness event, fantastic marshals, plenty of water stops and photographers. Fantastic support for every runner! Pete and his team brilliant again!

Absolutely stunning scenery and have ran this for the past three consecutive years. I thoroughly enjoy the atmosphere from the bag piper to the horrible hills. The volunteers are so friendly and helpful what a great community to be in. Was fantastic weather which certainly topped it off. Very well organised and arranged. I have been to many races and I can not fault anything about it. Look forward to it every year. Well done! Keep up the good work.

My 3rd different Tay Fitness event and, as ever, a friendly and welcoming atmosphere with helpful marshals from arriving in the car to the finish. I now want to do run like L next year!

This was my Second Tay fitness event and have to say yet again it was outstanding!!! Very well organised, staff were lovely and the route was great and challenging for the 5K. Would encourage anyone to sign up and give these a go!! I’ll definitely be back.

I completed the 5k. run today. I have been running for about 40 years and this was one of the best races I have ever done. The organisation of it was spot on and all the officials were extremely friendly and helpful. The fundraisers for the cancer charities put on a spectacular spread.

Good luck and thankyou to all of you, see you next year

This was my first organised 10k race and I was blown away by how good it was. All the staff were very friendly and supportive and the scenery! Absolutely gorgeous. This may have been the first, but it won’t be the last. Think the ‘Run like L’ series for next year will have to get smashed now.

Lovely route, scenery stunning, quiet roads and very well organised

  15. Nicola Bishop (verified owner)

First 10k in a long time and what a great experience it was. Really well organised and the marshalls were all fantastic. The water stops were particularly appreciated as it was a roaster of a day. Soup and cakes afterwards were also first class. Definitely an event I would do again

My first time running the Killin 10k and I really enjoyed the event. Very different to the Hidden Glen 10k and a different challenge.
I think the very warm weather made it tougher and I should have bought a hat with me for my bald head😂
I personally prefer 10k runs on a Sunday as I ran a parkrun event at 9:30 on the morning of this years Killin 10k and I certainly felt it in my legs towards the end.
The food in the hall was very welcome and I loved the soup and sandwiches and all the T-shirts options are great.
Hope to return next year to improve on my time and I will move into the 50 age group category.
    Cheers
    Colin

I took part in the Callander 10k last year and had the Killin event recommended to me. I wasn’t disappointed. Great route and excellent scenery when I could lift my head up.
