Loved this event. I had a great day just swimming at my own pace, at times in my own wee world.
This is what I love about it, it great for those wanting to race and be first etc and for those that just want to achieve a personal challenge. For me it was about getting a better time than last time. It is true what Tay Fitness advertise, it about helping every swimmer home.
It’s a well organised event, with great friendly volunteers marshaling.

My first outdoor swimming event, the build up info was all useful, the event was well planned, everyone was so friendly, I enjoyed it very much, and was happy that it didn’t matter how long I took, I would finish. To have people help me stand up and get to the finish line, was a must! I’d forgotten how to stand ! Thank you all

All the volunteers and commentators were really friendly, encouraging and welcoming. Those on the kayakers were engaging and made me feel safe in the open water. It was really nice when coming out of the water that there was a line of volunteers to hold me up, and help me find my feet again. The event was well organised, and the piper did really well.

Loved the event , really well run and a lovely friendly atmosphere . . Many thanks to all concerned organisers marshals , canoeists and competitors (oh and the stunning Loch Tay ) it all combined to make a very memorable event

Fantastic well organised event. Really happy to accommodate my request to change swim distance. Brilliant atmosphere and piper was a lovely touch. Accommodation on site was great and brilliant food at the Boathouse. Will definitely bring family back so they can enjoy the lodges and surroundings too

I was staying at the lodges with some friends when an email alerted us to the swimming event this weekend. I hadn’t realised and was absolutely delighted when there were spots in the 5k swim for me and in the 250m for my daughter. Lovely setting, being piped into the water and support at each turning buoy made the event brilliant. I’m already looking for my next Tay Fitness Event!

What a great event! My first attempt at swimming 5k and I was so delighted that I did it at Loch Tay. The whole event was superbly run, and I couldn’t fault anything. Unfortunately I was quite cold by halfway, and began to struggle. The last lap seemed to take forever, and I couldn’t thank the young lad in the kayak who paddled alongside me for a while – it made a HUGE difference as I was feeling quite lonely! Thanks to the volunteers who helped me out of the water, to Dougie the amazing commentator, and all my fabulous friends who waited for me after completing their own swims, and made it an epic finish. I think we’ll all be back next year!

What a brilliant and well run event. We were here last year and after it being cancelled we were so pleased that it was going ahead.
I felt so supported and safe throughout the event and the encouragement from the support staff made it so much fun!
Thank you all for a great day! 👍

Friendly and well organised event. Beautiful location and excellent facilities. Already looking forward to next year, think I’ll stay at the lodges and make a weekend of it with the family. Lovely to bump in to a friend at the event who I hadn’t realised was also a swimmer. Brilliant day all round. Thanks to all involved!

First OWS event and it was fantastic. Great organisation, felt very safe in the water, and lots of thought had gone into the after-swim part (although I was not as cold as I anticipated!). Thank you very much – my swim buddy and I will be back!

+ What are the race routes?

Killin Santa Dash (11/12/21): The dash starts at the Falls Of Dochart Inn, crosses the Dochart Bridge then heads down to Main Street and past McLaren Hall.
